MiNdBOx - Fei Ni Mo Shu

The song of the day... - yeah maybe Valentine's day is in my mind this time around.

Fei Ni Mo Shu or in English, Must Be You. There's two version; one by Ling Yi Chen (female) and the other's by Tank (male). Decide for yourself which version is better but regardless, it's the lyrics that matter ;)

Happy Valentine's day!

P/S: Managed to "decipher" the lyrics this time too :P

[Spoken by Tank]
Ni zhi dao ma?
(Did you know?)
Wo hen xi huan qian zhe ni de shou de gan jue
(I like the feeling of holding your hands very much)
Na shi she me yang zhi?
(How did it look like?)
Wo hao xi wang zai lai yi chi
(I really wish I could do it again)

Dong de rang wo wei xiao de ren
(The person who knows how to make me smile)
Zai mei you shui bi ni you tian fen
(There's no one more talented than you)
Qing yi chuang jing wo de xing men
(Easily barged into my heart)
Ming tian de mei mong ni wan chen
(Completes tomorrow's beautiful dream)

Zheng ge yue zong
(The entire universe)
Hao han wu bian de jing tou
(Vast and boundless)
Mei ge mei xiao xing qiu
(Every small little planet)
Quan dou rao zhe ni jou
(All orbit around you)

Ai wo, fei ni mo shu
(Love me, must be you)
Wo zi yuan, shou hu
(I only want to protect)
You ni gei wo de xing fu
(The happiness that you gave me)

Ai wo, fei ni mo shu
(Love me, must be you)
Ye shu hui, xiao zhe ku
(I might cry while I smile)
Dan na ren shi ni suo yi
(But because that person is you thus)
Bu pa ku
(Not afraid of sufferings)

Dong de rang wo liu lei de ren
(The person who knows how to make me shed tears)
Gei de gan dong yi ding shi zui shen
(The affection given must be the deepest)
Zai wo xing zhong liu xia shang hen
(Leaves a scar in my heart)
Ni tong shi dian liang le xing chen
(You light up the night sky at the same time)

Kan na me duo xiang yue
(I've met many)
Pian pian zi he ni
(But it's only with you)
Tian zao di shen ban shan sheng qi ji
(Miracles are created)

Wo xing de feng xi
(This crack in my heart)
Wo xiang chu le ni
(I think apart from you)
Ren shui yea wu fa tian bu zhe kong xin
(There's no one else who can fill up this emptiness)

MiNdBOx - Jue Qiang Ai Zhe Ni

This song has been around for quite some time now but it only got stuck in my mind recently when I heard the song in S.H.E's concert at Genting on TV (LOL ya nothing better to do than watching TV during CNY.)

Sung by Anthony Zheng Wei Kang, the winner of Astro Talent Quest (or ATQ in short) 2006, it's catchy and soulful at the same time - though don't ask me what the song is about..I only know some words here and there :P

Enjoy..

Cloverfield is your typical monster-in-the-city movie with a twist. Filmed using a hand-held video camera, it tells the night from the eyes of one of the characters, Hud, beginning from a farewell party for Rob, who is leaving for Japan, to the sudden attack on New York City. Initially they attempt to escape the city via the Brooklyn Bridge but halfway, Rob receives a call from his love interest, Beth, who is caught in the attack in another part of the city and is now unable to move. And so while Brooklyn Bridge goes down, Rob decides to rescue Beth, who had actually left the party earlier after a squabble with him. His friends, Hud, Lily, and Marlena, decide to go too.

Their journey takes them directly into ground zero, through the CREEPIEST ever (and I do mean it in CAPITALS!) subway tunnel , into a "leaning" apartment building, on a helicopter ride, and face to face with the creature. And the audience are with them throughout, shaky camerawork and all. Ok, maybe not all audiences as some would have given up halfway citing "what a stupid movie" while some would be feeling dizzy, nauseous, even vomitting.

I, on the other hand, find it to be a brilliant piece of work. I am part of the rollercoaster ride - although if this is actually happening, I think I am probably hysterical by now. I feel their terror, their horror, and their pain (especially the part when Rob tells his mom that his brother is dead). This is not a stupid movie, no, it's definitely not. It's just.....well, different. I guess you need to immerse yourself in it and maybe, just maybe, you'll love it like I do.

Kudos to the producer, J.J Abrams, who is also the executive producer of the awesome hit series, Lost. And there's even talk of a sequel (Woo-hoo!). Afterall, in this You Tube era, there's probably thousands other New Yorkers filming on that fateful night so this might not be the only footage found by the U.S Goverment in an area "formerly known as Central Park" or what is now designated as "Cloverfield". Though I think if there is indeed a next time, most people will be taking the notice posted at ticket counters in cinemas everwhere more seriously LOL; "Cloverfield is not your average type of movie. Please watch at your own discretion."

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I've always had a thing for musicals. Who can forget the famous "The phantom of the opera is here inside my mind..." or the chinese musical Perhaps Love starring the ever-dashing Takeshi Kaneshiro. And now we have Sweeney Todd, the latest musical to hit the silver screen. Directed by Tim Burton (of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride fame), it stars the talented Johnny Depp in the title role as well as Helen Bonham Carter, or better known as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix.

The story begins 15 years after Benjamin Barker (Depp), a successful barber, was wrongfully arrested for a charge he never committed by evil Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman), who had set eyes on Barker's beautiful wife. Having escaped, Barker adopts the name Sweeney Todd and vows revenge. He reopens his barber shop on Fleet Street, right above Mrs Lovett (Carter)'s "worst pies in London" shop. A failed attempt to kill Turpin causes Todd to go on a murderous rampage, killing his customers by slitting their throats with his silver razors. Together with Mrs Lovett, they find the perfect solution to get rid of the bodies. In the midst of it all, there's his daughter, Johanna - now Turpin's ward - who fell in love with a sailor and together plan to elope.

Like any musicals, most of the dialogues are in the form of songs which is what makes the film so enjoyable. And mind you, the songs are all sang by the actors and actresses themselves. Adds another feather to Johnny Depp's hat, eh? A worthy watch, really, and all the better, I only had to pay 6 bucks ;)
