Mamma Mia! The Movie

Mamma Mia! The Movie

Mamma Mia, here I go again...

Yes, once again I couldn't resist watching a musical-movie and as usual I loved it!

Mamma Mia! The Movie is a stage-to-film adaptation of the very famous musical Mamma Mia! and uses songs from the successful 70s pop group ABBA. It's the story of a girl (Amanda Seyfried) who is planning to get married but wants her father to give her away during the ceremony. However, she doesn't know who her father is and after getting hold of her mum (Meryl Streep) 's diary, she concludes that he is one of the 3 men; Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), Harry Bright (Colin Firth), or Bill Anderson (Stellan Skarsgård). And what does she do but secretly invites all 3 to her wedding, hoping she will be able to find out which one is her father once she meets them. Thus begins a journey of determining the real father with a huge cups of humour, laughter, tears and SONGs thrown in!

The outcome was one very enjoyable movie with a wonderful cast and catchy songs a-plenty. Haha and I've heard many people criticizing Pierce Brosnan's singing. True it wasn't superb and at times he looked as though he was kinda struggling to get the words out but overall it wasn't a total disaster, at least it went down OK with me. One thing was for sure, he looked dashing compared to the other 2 "possible fathers", especially in the one scene where you can see their silhouettes against the dawn in the background..woah how he stood out! Well, he wasn't "Bond, James Bond" for nothing, eh? :P

Needless to say, the soundtrack (and ABBA's originals) now tops my playlist. I like all the songs and I particularly love "Our Last Summer" and "Lay All Your Love on Me" - the movie versions. Ooh, and coincidentally the stage musical is coming this way too end of the year. The tickets are purportedly selling like hot cakes already if not sold out for certain dates. I've never watched a live musical before and I am so tempted.....

Project MOV3 - The Finale

Sept 27th: The day had come for the official move i.e no more a new house to go to, no more the old house to go back to...it's gonna be only numero uno now onwards.

Actually most of the stuff had been moved to the new place, whats left at the old place are just the big stuff such as the fridge, the beds and the cupboards.

Bye bye backyard seaviewWoke up early that day to take some last minute pictures..last chance!

At 9.00am the moving lorry arrived and they got to work almost immediately. By almost 9.30am it was all done and it was REALLY time to say goodbye! *gulp I had that sad farewell feeling deep inside..this time it was for real, this was perhaps the last time I'll step my foot in there.

And the car drove off - I was driving actually - and though not quite like driving into the sunset movie-style but a new beginning nonetheless.

Well, it's almost a week now and we're all settled down pretty much. Just that now I have to include ~3mins elevator waiting time into my schedule LOL. Oh, and I woke up one morning and suddenly I felt as though I was back in my old room. The feeling didn't last though as reality took over rather quickly....
